PCT blends, also listed as post-cycle therapy blends, post-cycle support or PCT capsules, are multi-ingredient products sold under a product name rather than the name of a single established compound. This page lists every PCT blend stocked at Free Muscle, compared on stated ingredients, capsules per pack and whether the batch has been assayed by an independent laboratory. We do not give cycle, protocol or post-cycle advice of any kind. These products are supplied for laboratory research to adults only.
What is a PCT blend?
Post-cycle therapy is a term from bodybuilding forums rather than from clinical medicine. It refers to the notion, discussed on those forums, of products used after a course of hormonally suppressive compounds. A PCT blend is a capsule or tablet that combines several ingredients under one label aimed at that market. Because there is no single molecule called PCT, there is no pharmacology of PCT, no receptor for it, no development history and no trial data on any blend as a product. Each blend is only the sum of what is in the capsule, which is a question for the label and the batch certificate.
Across the market, products sold under the PCT label draw from a few ingredient categories. Some contain prescription-class molecules such as selective oestrogen receptor modulators or aromatase inhibitors. Some contain botanical extracts, vitamins and minerals of the kind found in products marketed as testosterone boosters. Some contain both. Which of these a specific product contains, and in what quantity, is stated on its label and confirmed only by the certificate of analysis for that batch. We describe our own blend on its product page by its listed ingredients and nothing more.
No PCT blend is a licensed medicine in the UK or EU. Where a blend contains a SERM or an aromatase inhibitor, that ingredient is a prescription-only medicine when sold as such, and the blend is not authorised as a food supplement either. Suppressed hormone production is a medical condition that is diagnosed with blood tests and managed by a clinician.
What the published research reports
There are no clinical trials on any PCT blend as a product. The closest published evidence looks at the ingredient categories that such blends draw from, and at how the claims on multi-ingredient hormone products compare with the literature.
- Analysis of online testosterone-boosting supplements (2019). Researchers evaluated the five best-selling testosterone-boosting supplements on a major online retailer and traced 19 unique ingredients through 191 published studies. Of the 37 human studies identified, about 30 per cent reported an increase in testosterone and about 46 per cent reported no effect. Once suspicious customer reviews were filtered out, reported benefits fell sharply. The authors concluded that rigorous human evidence for these products was limited. Balasubramanian A, et al. - Composition and claims of 50 testosterone-boosting products (2020). A separate group examined 50 such products. Ninety per cent claimed to boost testosterone, but only about a quarter of the ingredients had any supporting data, and about 10 per cent of components had published evidence of a potentially negative effect on testosterone. Several products exceeded the tolerable upper intake for certain vitamins and minerals. Clemesha CG, et al. Both studies concern supplements sold for consumption, and both point the same way: a product name and a claim on a label are not evidence of what a blend does. Where a blend contains a prescription-class molecule such as a SERM, the trial data for that molecule exists only in medically monitored patients, and is discussed on the relevant compound page, for example enclomiphene. None of the above is a claim about any product on this page.

How to compare them
Comparing blends is harder than comparing single compounds because two products with the same name can contain entirely different things. Start with the ingredient list and ask, for each ingredient, what it is and how many milligrams of it a pack contains: strength per capsule multiplied by capsules per pack. Then set that against the price for a cost per milligram of each named ingredient, and ignore proprietary blend totals that do not break out the individual amounts. Finally, check the batch certificate: a certificate for a multi-ingredient product should identify and quantify each listed ingredient, not just report a single purity figure.
Batch testing and certificates of analysis
A certificate of analysis (COA) reports what an independent laboratory found when it tested a sample from a specific batch. For a blend, that means the identity of each named ingredient and the measured amount of each, together with the laboratory name, method, batch number and date. Every Free Muscle batch is tested by Janoshik Analytical, which we neither own nor control. To request a certificate, email us with the batch number printed on your pack.
A generic PDF with no batch number, no date or no named laboratory is not a batch certificate, and a certificate that reports only one ingredient of a multi-ingredient blend tells you very little. Legal status in the UK
No PCT blend is a licensed medicine. The MHRA has not assessed any of these products, and they are not authorised food supplements. Free Muscle supplies them for laboratory research to adults aged 18 or over, not for human consumption. Individual ingredients may carry their own status: SERMs and aromatase inhibitors are prescription-only medicines when supplied as such in the UK.
For sport, the WADA Prohibited List bans anti-oestrogenic substances, aromatase inhibitors and selective oestrogen receptor modulators at all times under section S4, hormone and metabolic modulators. A blend containing any of these is prohibited, and a blend containing only botanical extracts may still be contaminated. Anyone subject to anti-doping rules should treat these products as prohibited unless every ingredient has been checked with their governing body. Storage and handling
Keep the container tightly sealed in a cool, dry place away from direct light and heat. Keep the batch number with the material and do not transfer capsules into unlabelled containers. Follow good laboratory practice when handling, and keep out of the reach of children and animals.

What is in a PCT blend?
It depends entirely on the product. There is no single compound called PCT. Blends across the market draw on prescription-class molecules such as SERMs and aromatase inhibitors, on botanical extracts, vitamins and minerals, or on a mix of both. The only reliable statement of what a given pack contains is its label and the certificate of analysis for that batch.
Is a PCT blend a SARM?
No. SARMs are single compounds that act on the androgen receptor. A PCT blend is a multi-ingredient product sold under a product name. Some blends contain SERMs, which act on oestrogen receptors, but that is a different class. Both are listed on the WADA Prohibited List under different sections, and neither is a licensed medicine in the UK.
Do you give PCT or cycle advice?
No. We do not provide any guidance on cycles, protocols, timing, dosing or what to take after any compound. Free Muscle products are supplied for laboratory research only. Suppressed hormone production is a medical condition that is diagnosed with blood tests and managed by a clinician, and no product bought online is a substitute for that.
How do I verify a batch of a PCT blend?
Find the batch number printed on the pack and email us with it. For Free Muscle brand products we will send the Janoshik Analytical certificate for that batch. For a blend, check that the certificate identifies and quantifies each listed ingredient, and that the batch number, date and laboratory name match your pack. A generic PDF without a batch number is not a batch certificate.
Are PCT blends detectable in sport drug tests?
If a blend contains a SERM, an aromatase inhibitor or any other anti-oestrogenic substance, those are prohibited at all times under section S4 of the WADA Prohibited List and are tested for. Even a blend of botanical extracts can be contaminated. Anyone subject to anti-doping rules should treat these products as prohibited unless every ingredient has been cleared.
