RAD-150, sold under the name TLB-150 and sometimes written RAD150 or TLB150, is marketed as an esterified derivative of the selective androgen receptor modulator RAD-140 (testolone). The ester group is said by its sellers to slow release of the parent molecule, though no peer-reviewed study has examined this. What is RAD-150?
RAD-150 is described by its manufacturers as a benzoate ester of RAD-140, a non-steroidal SARM first reported by Radius Health in 2011. In pharmacology, esterification is a familiar technique: attaching an ester group to a molecule that carries a free hydroxyl often makes it more fat-soluble, so that it is released more slowly and acts for longer once the ester is cleaved by esterase enzymes. Whether RAD-150 actually behaves this way in any biological system has not been tested in the published literature. The compound did not originate in a pharmaceutical development programme, has no development code from a recognised company, and appeared first in grey-market catalogues.
Everything that can be said with any confidence about its mechanism is inherited from the parent molecule. RAD-140 binds the androgen receptor with high affinity and was designed for tissue selectivity, favouring muscle and bone over prostate. If RAD-150 is hydrolysed to RAD-140 in vivo, its receptor pharmacology would be expected to follow, but the rate and extent of that conversion, and the fate of the benzoate fragment, are unknown.
RAD-150 has no human trial data, no published animal data, and has never been submitted for approval anywhere. It holds no marketing authorisation from the MHRA, EMA or FDA and is not a medicine in any jurisdiction.
What the published research reports
A PubMed search for RAD-150 or TLB-150 returns no controlled studies, no pharmacokinetic work and no case reports. Because of this, the only relevant evidence is the literature on RAD-140, and even that must be read with the caveat that an ester is a different chemical entity.
RAD-140 discovery paper (2011). Miller and colleagues described the design, synthesis and preclinical characterisation of RAD140 as a potent, orally bioavailable, non-steroidal SARM, tested in several animal models of anabolic androgen action. No human data are included.
RAD-140 first-in-human study (2022). LoRusso and colleagues reported a phase 1 dose-escalation study of RAD140 in 22 postmenopausal women with ER-positive, HER2-negative metastatic breast cancer. Elevated AST (59.1 per cent), elevated ALT (45.5 per cent) and raised bilirubin (27.3 per cent) were the most common treatment-emergent adverse events, and grade 3 or 4 events occurred in 72.7 per cent of patients. Clinical benefit rate at 24 weeks was 18.2 per cent. This is the only human study of the parent compound.
UK market analysis of SARM products (2021). Leaney and colleagues, working in a UK laboratory, purchased supplement products marketed as SARMs to UK consumers and analysed them by high-resolution mass spectrometry. They found discrepancies ranging from products with no active ingredient at all to products containing undeclared prohibited substances, and where a SARM was present its measured concentration often differed from the label. The authors noted that no SARM has yet gained clinical approval from the EMA or FDA and that toxicity data, especially for combinations, are incomplete.
These findings describe study participants, laboratory animals and purchased products from other suppliers. None of them is a claim about the RAD-150 listed on this page, and none of the RAD-140 findings can be assumed to transfer to the ester.

How to compare them
With one brand on the page the comparison is against the RAD-140 collection rather than between RAD-150 products. Compute total milligrams per pack (strength per capsule multiplied by capsules per pack), divide the price by that figure for cost per milligram, and remember that a milligram of the ester contains proportionally less of the parent molecule because the benzoate group adds mass. Above all, check the batch certificate: with a compound this poorly characterised, an independent identity and purity assay is the only objective information available. Batch testing and certificates of analysis
A certificate of analysis (COA) answers the two questions that matter about a RAD-150 capsule: is the compound what the label says, and how much is present. A genuine batch certificate is issued by an independent laboratory, names the lot number, and reports identity (by HPLC or mass spectrometry against a reference standard) and assayed purity or content.

For other brands we show a COA only where the manufacturer has supplied one for the batch we hold. A generic PDF with no batch number, or one dated long before the product was made, is not a batch certificate and tells you nothing about the capsules in your hand. Legal status in the UK
RAD-150 is not a licensed medicine in the United Kingdom. It has never been granted a marketing authorisation by the MHRA, and it is not an authorised food supplement or a permitted novel food ingredient. It cannot legally be sold or labelled for human consumption. Free Muscle sells RAD-150 to adults aged 18 or over for laboratory and research purposes only, and every listing states this. Although RAD-150 is not named individually on the World Anti-Doping Agency Prohibited List, section S1.2 (Other Anabolic Agents) lists SARMs by example and covers other substances with a similar chemical structure or similar biological effect, so an ester of RAD-140 is prohibited at all times. Storage and handling
Keep RAD-150 capsules in the original sealed container in a cool, dry place away from light and heat. Do not decant into unlabelled containers, and record the batch number so that a COA request can be matched to the exact material. Keep out of reach of children and pets, and follow standard laboratory good practice: gloves when handling, no eating or drinking in the work area, and disposal in line with local rules for research chemicals.

Strictly, it is a prodrug or ester of a SARM rather than a SARM that has been characterised in its own right. Its receptor binding, metabolism and tissue selectivity have not been reported in peer-reviewed literature.
Is there any research on RAD-150?
No. A PubMed search for RAD-150 or TLB-150 returns no controlled studies, animal studies or case reports. The only related evidence concerns RAD-140, the parent compound, which has a discovery paper, animal work and a single phase 1 oncology trial reporting frequent liver enzyme elevations. Those findings cannot be assumed to apply to the ester.
How do I verify the batch I received?
Note the batch number on your RAD-150 container and send it to us by email; we reply with the Janoshik Analytical certificate issued for that specific batch. The certificate should quote the same lot number as your label and give an identity result and an assayed purity figure. Is RAD-150 detectable in sports drug testing?
It should be assumed so. WADA prohibits SARMs and any substance with a similar structure or biological effect under S1.2 at all times. If RAD-150 is hydrolysed to RAD-140 in the body, anti-doping laboratories already have validated methods to detect RAD-140 and its metabolites. Anyone subject to anti-doping rules should treat RAD-150 as prohibited.
