This collection holds the two Free Muscle products that are food supplements rather than research compounds: Creatren, creatine monohydrate and taurine in a pot of 90 capsules, and NitraGlyc, a stimulant-free pre-workout capsule combining Nitrosigine (inositol-stabilised arginine silicate) and glycerol. Both are made to the same standard as the rest of the range: an ingredient list you can read, a batch number on every pack, and an independent assay of every batch by Janoshik Analytical, with the certificate available on request.

What this collection covers

  • Creatren, creatine monohydrate with taurine, 90 capsules, with 2,000 mg in a 3-capsule serving. Creatine monohydrate is the most studied form of creatine. Its authorised UK and EU health claim may only be used for a food that provides 3 g of creatine a day, so we make no health claim for Creatren; the label carries the directions.
  • NitraGlyc, 60 capsules, stimulant-free. It contains Nitrosigine and glycerol and no caffeine. Neither ingredient has an authorised UK or EU health claim, so we describe what is in it rather than what it does.

How to compare them with other products

Read the ingredient panel. For creatine, look at the grams of creatine monohydrate per serving and whether anything else is in the product. For pre-workouts, check the named ingredients, their per-serving quantities and whether the product contains stimulants. Then ask whether the seller can show a certificate for the batch you are buying rather than a general statement of quality.

What the published research reports

Creatine monohydrate has decades of controlled trials. The International Society of Sports Nutrition's 2017 position stand reviewed that literature and reported that, in the studied populations, creatine supplementation increased high-intensity exercise capacity, which is the finding behind the authorised claim; it also noted that most trials were short and that responses varied between individuals. Taurine, Nitrosigine and glycerol have far smaller evidence bases, and the studies that exist are short and often industry-funded. Our article on creatine and taurine sets out what is and is not supported.

Batch testing and certificates of analysis

Every Free Muscle batch, including these food supplements, goes to Janoshik Analytical, a laboratory we neither own nor control. The certificate records what was identified in the batch and the purity measured. The batch number is printed on the pack; email it to us and we will send the certificate. See how we test.

Legal status in the UK

Creatren and NitraGlyc are food supplements, not medicines. Food supplements are not intended to treat, prevent or cure any condition and should not be used as a substitute for a varied diet and a healthy lifestyle. Creatine, taurine, arginine and glycerol are permitted food ingredients in the UK, and none is prohibited under the WADA list. Athletes should still check batch certificates and any relevant informed-sport requirements before use.

Frequently asked questions

Is creatine safe to take?

Creatine monohydrate is a permitted food supplement ingredient in the UK and one of the most studied supplements in sports nutrition. As with any supplement, follow the label, do not exceed the stated serving, and speak to a doctor or pharmacist first if you have a medical condition, take medication, or are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Does NitraGlyc contain caffeine?

No. NitraGlyc is stimulant-free. It contains Nitrosigine, which is inositol-stabilised arginine silicate, and glycerol, in capsule form. Because neither ingredient carries an authorised health claim in the UK or EU, we do not make performance claims for it. The full ingredient panel and serving directions are on the label and the product page.

Is Creatren batch-tested like the research compounds?

Yes. Every Free Muscle-brand batch, including Creatren and NitraGlyc, is assayed by Janoshik Analytical, an independent laboratory. The batch number is printed on the pack. Email it to us and we will send the certificate, which records the identity and purity found in that batch. Few food supplements offer a certificate for the exact batch you hold.

Are these products allowed in tested sport?

Creatine, taurine, arginine silicate and glycerol are not on the WADA prohibited list. That said, athletes are responsible for everything they consume, and some sports bodies expect supplements to carry an informed-sport style certification, which is a separate scheme from batch purity testing. Request the batch certificate and check your sport's requirements before using any supplement.

Can I return an opened pot?

Our 30-day return policy applies to unopened items. Once a pot or bottle has been opened it cannot be resold, so we cannot accept it back unless there is a fault with the product. If something arrives damaged or wrong, contact us with your order number and we will put it right. Full details are on our guarantee page.
