WHAT IS
ACTUALLY KNOWN

We would rather you bought with your eyes open than not at all. Here is the state of the evidence, including the parts that do not help us.

01

What it is

This is a selective androgen receptor modulator. Binds selectively to androgen receptors in muscle and bone.

02

State of the evidence

Preclinical data exists. Human efficacy trials for performance do not.

03

Known risks

SARMs have been associated with liver injury and testosterone suppression in case reports.

04

Regulatory status

Not authorised for human consumption in the UK or EU.

05

Status in sport

SARMs are on the WADA Prohibited List and are detectable.

06

What we verify

Identity and purity, per batch, by a laboratory we do not own. We verify what is in the capsule — nothing about what it does.

WHAT WE CAN
PROVE

We don't have customer reviews to show you yet, and we're not going to invent any. Here is what we can actually put in front of you instead.

Assayed by a lab we don't own

Batches go to Janoshik Analytical, an independent testing laboratory. We don't choose the result.

Good to know

QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

RAD-140 (Testolone) is a selective androgen receptor modulator. It binds to androgen receptors with more selectivity for muscle and bone tissue than anabolic steroids do. Preclinical work exists; human efficacy trials for performance do not.

This product is supplied for laboratory research use only. We do not provide dosing instructions, cycle lengths or post-cycle protocols for human use.

We do not give post-cycle therapy advice. Androgen receptor modulators can suppress endogenous testosterone — that is a matter for a qualified clinician, not for a shop.

Yes. SARMs are on the WADA Prohibited List and are detectable in standard screening. If you compete in a tested sport, do not take this.

Yes — identity and purity, per batch, by Janoshik Analytical. Email us the batch number from your pack and we will send that batch's Certificate of Analysis. You do not need to have bought anything to ask.

In-stock orders are dispatched the same or next working day, with tracked UK and EU delivery.

COMPOUND MONOGRAPH

RAD-140 in the UK: buying, legal status and what to check

Anyone looking for RAD-140 (testolone) in the UK usually wants to know two things: whether it can be sold lawfully, and how to know what is in the bottle. RAD-140 holds no marketing authorisation from the MHRA or any other regulator, so it cannot be sold as a medicine, and it is not an authorised food supplement ingredient, so it cannot be sold for eating. FreeMuscle LTD of Scunthorpe supplies it only as a laboratory research compound to adults aged 18 or over.

Labels in this class are unreliable. Scientists at LGC in Cambridgeshire analysed products sold to UK consumers as SARMs by high-resolution mass spectrometry: at least one contained no active ingredient, some contained undeclared prohibited substances, and where SARMs were found, measured amounts differed from the packaging (Leaney 2021).

A trustworthy listing states the strength, the capsule count and the company behind it, gives access to a certificate for the specific batch from a named independent laboratory, and publishes no human dosing schedule. Every batch of Free Muscle RAD-140 is assayed by Janoshik Analytical, and the certificate for a batch is sent on request by email. UK delivery is free, tracked and in plain packaging. Orders placed before 2pm Monday to Friday are processed the same working day, EU delivery takes three to seven working days and unopened items can be returned within 30 days (see shipping and our guarantee). Other RAD-140 brands we stock are compared in the RAD-140 collection.

Capsules compared with tablets and liquids

Besides capsules, RAD-140 is sold in the UK as tablets and liquids. The form does not change the molecule; it changes how confidently the amount in each unit can be known. A capsule is a weighed powder fill, so a certificate can report measured content against the 10 mg label claim. A tablet adds binders and compression, and the compound must be blended evenly through the mix. A liquid depends on the solvent, on the compound staying dissolved and on how accurately a volume is drawn, none of which a certificate for the starting powder addresses. No published study has compared the forms.

RAD-140 is also sometimes called a peptide. It is not one: RAD-140 is a small synthetic molecule of molecular weight 393.8 that its discoverers described as orally bioavailable in animals (Miller 2011), so the digestion problem that affects swallowed peptides, covered in Do oral peptides work?, does not arise in the same way.

RAD-140 compared with RAD-150 (TLB-150)

RAD-150, sold as TLB-150, is described by sellers as a benzoate ester of RAD-140, said to change how the molecule is released. None of that has been tested in print: a PubMed search in September 2026 for RAD150, RAD-150, TLB150 and TLB-150 returned no relevant records.

If RAD-150 is an ester, part of each milligram is the ester group, so milligram figures for the two are not directly comparable, and whether the ester is converted to RAD-140 in the body, and how quickly, is unknown. Reading the certificate of analysis for this product

A Janoshik Analytical certificate for a batch of Free Muscle RAD-140 describes what is in the capsules, not what they do. For this molecule, each field has something specific to check.

  • Identity: usually shown by liquid chromatography with mass spectrometry (LC-MS). RAD-140 appears as the protonated molecule at m/z 394 (Wagener 2022), and because it carries one chlorine atom, a companion peak two units higher at roughly a third of the height is expected.
  • Purity: the share of the chromatogram's peak area that is RAD-140, as a percentage. The molecule has two stereocentres and the described form is (1R,2S); a routine achiral method confirms the compound but does not normally separate it from its mirror image.
  • Content: the amount measured per capsule against the 10 mg label claim, the figure that failed to match the packaging in the UK survey above.
  • Batch number and test date: the batch number must match the one on the bottle, and the certificate should be dated; a certificate for another batch, or an undated one, describes something else.

If a field is missing or the batch number does not match, contact us before relying on the batch. See also How to read a certificate of analysis and our lab tests page.

Detection, sport and testing

RAD-140 is named, as RAD140, on the WADA Prohibited List under S1.2, other anabolic agents, prohibited at all times. As an S1 substance it is non-Specified, UK Anti-Doping applies the same list, and under strict liability an athlete answers for any prohibited substance in a sample, however it got there. A verified detection time exists: in a Cologne doping-control study, 30 adult male volunteers received single or repeated micro-doses of 1 to 50 micrograms. Unchanged RAD-140 outlasted every metabolite in urine, detectable up to 212 hours, about nine days, after a single microgram and up to 29 days after a single 50 microgram amount (Wagener 2022). Larger amounts were not studied, so these figures are not an upper limit.

Storage, stability and handling

No stability study of RAD-140 capsules has been published, so shelf life should be read from the label and certificate date rather than assumed. Keep the bottle closed in a cool, dry, dark place; if refrigerated, let it reach room temperature before opening so condensation does not form on the capsules. Leave capsules in the original bottle, which holds the batch number, and do not combine batches. In the laboratory, record the batch number and opening date, wear gloves, avoid raising dust if a capsule is opened, and dispose of unused material as chemical waste. RAD-140 is a potent androgen receptor ligand: keep it away from children, animals and anyone pregnant or breastfeeding.

What the published research reports

Radius Health chemists described RAD-140 in 2011 as a potent, orally bioavailable, non-steroidal SARM and characterised it in several animal models of anabolic androgen action; the paper contains no human data (Miller 2011). The only clinical trial is a phase 1 dose-escalation study in 22 heavily pretreated postmenopausal women with ER-positive, HER2-negative metastatic breast cancer (LoRusso 2022). It recorded raised AST in 59.1 per cent of participants, raised ALT in 45.5 per cent and raised bilirubin in 27.3 per cent, with vomiting, dehydration, reduced appetite and weight loss in 27.3 per cent each; grade 3 or 4 adverse events affected 16 of the 22. SHBG fell in all 18 women measured and PSA rose in 16 of 20, markers the investigators used to confirm androgen receptor engagement. The measured half-life was 44.7 hours, the only published human half-life figure.

That trial measured tolerability and tumour response, not muscle or strength, and no trial of its effects in healthy adults has been published. Case reports of liver injury in people who used RAD-140 outside any trial are summarised in RAD-140 (testolone): what the research says. None of these findings is a claim about the product on this page.
